The Lion and the mouse (free after La Fontaine.)   In a large forest there lives a small mouse.   The mouse runs fast through the forest. Where does the mouse sleep? The mouse sleeps under a tree.   One day a lion comes into the forest.   The lion is hungry. The lion wants to eat an animal.   The lion smells the mouse. The lion sees the mouse. Oh no! The mouse does not watch out!   The lion catches the mouse. The mouse is very afraid!   The mouse shouts: "Au! That hurts, let me run away. You are so large, I am so small. I want to be your friend. I want to help you, when you call me"   The lion laughs and says: "We both are friends. I let you free. Maybe you can help me later" The mouse runs away quickly.   A hunter enters the forest. He has a net. He wants to catch the lion.   The hunter lays the net on the ground. Then he goes away.   The lion enters the forest. He does not see the net.   The lion walks on the net.   Too bad! The lion is caught in the net!   The lion is very afraid. He does not want to die. He roars out loud: "Help, help!"   The mouse hears the roar. She comes fast. She sees the lion. She sees the net.   The mouse says to the lion: "I'm your friend. I will help you. I will bite the net into pieces".   The mouse bites a large hole into the net.   The lion is very happy. He is free again. He does not have to die.   The lion says: "Thank you my dear mouse. You are my friend. I will not eat you!"   The mouse says: "You are my friend. I'm glad that I was able to help you". Then the mouse runs away.

Der Löwe und die Maus (frei nach La Fontaine)   In einem großen Wald lebt eine kleine Maus.   Die Maus rennt schnell durch den Wald. Wo schläft die Maus ? Die Maus schläft unter einem Baum.   Eines Tages kommt ein Löwe in den Wald.   Der Löwe hat Hunger. Der Löwe will ein Tier fressen.   Der Löwe riecht die Maus. Der Löwe sieht die Maus. O weh ! Die Maus passt nicht auf !   Der Löwe packt die Maus. Die Maus hat große Angst !   Die Maus ruft : Aua, das tut weh! Lass mich doch bitte laufen. Du bist so groß. Ich bin so klein. Ich will dein Freund sein. Ich will dir helfen, wenn du mich rufst.   Der Löwe lacht und sagt: Wir beide sind Freunde. Ich lasse dich laufen. Vielleicht kannst du mir später helfen. Die Maus läuft schnell davon.   Ein Jäger kommt in den Wald. Er hat ein Netz. Er will den Löwen fangen.   Der Jäger legt das Netz auf den Boden. Dann geht er wieder fort.   Der Löwe kommt in den Wald. Er sieht das Netz nicht.   Der Löwe tritt auf das Netz.   O weh ! Der Löwe ist im Netz gefangen!   Der Löwe hat große Angst. Er will nicht sterben. Er brüllt laut : Hilfe ! Hilfe !   Die Maus hört das Gebrüll ! Sie kommt schnell. Sie sieht den Löwen. Sie sieht das Netz.   Die Maus sagt zum Löwen: Ich bin dein Freund. Ich helfe dir. Ich beiße das Netz kaputt.   Die Maus beißt ein großes Loch in das Netz.   Der Löwe ist sehr froh. Er ist wieder frei. Er muss nicht sterben.   Der Löwe sagt: Danke, liebe Maus. Du bist mein Freund. Ich fresse dich nicht !   Die Maus sagt : Du bist mein Freund. Ich helfe dir gern! Dann läuft die Maus davon.
